SB19 celebrates historical Lollapalooza performance: ‘We hope we made an impact’

P-pop supergroup SB19 received overwhelming support and praise as they made their historic debut performance at the Chicago-based Lollapalooza music festival.

SB19, the first all Filipino group to perform at the festival, opened their about an hour-long set with their hit song “DAM” on Friday, July 31 (July 30 in the United States).

The quintet also sang their tracks “Gento,” “MAPA,” “Wakas,” “VISA,” Dungka,” “CRIMZONE,” as well as their cover of Francis Magalona’s “Mga Kababayan.” The group treated the audience as well to their first live performance of “Lawless,” which was released hours prior to their festival debut.

The group celebrated the milestone, describing it as an “unforgettable experience” through their social media pages.

“What an unforgettable experience! We hope we made an impact, and we’re beyond proud to represent the Philippines at Lollapalooza. Maraming salamat,” they wrote.

Fans from all over the world cheered for SB19, with Filipino A’TINs attending watch parties including the event organized by the Department of Tourism at Luneta Park. The Rizal Monument was also lit in blue to honor the group, which was earlier named as the country’s newest tourism ambassador.

The boy group was warmly welcomed as well by A’TINs at the festival ground who proudly waved the Philippine flag, as shown in the videos shared by the Lollapalooza organizers on their official social media pages.

Before their Lollapalooza debut, SB19 was featured at the Grammy Museum’s “Global Spin Live” and at the Chicago White Sox vs. New York Yankees game, where group member Josh threw the ceremonial first pitch.
