Holly Willoughby has admitted she felt “jealous” of Katherine Ryan when the comedian revealed she was pregnant with her fourth child last year.

The former This Morning host welcomed Ryan onto her new YouTube series, Holly Willoughby Together (with Voy), for its second episode.* *

Discussing Ryan’s recent pregnancy, Willoughby, who is mother to three children – Chester, 11, Belle, 15 and Harry, 17 – claimed that the “ship has now sailed” on having another child.

She told her guest: “When I heard you were pregnant and having another one, I was like, ‘Maybe I should, maybe I should.’ I was so jealous that you were doing it because I was like, ‘I should have done it.’”

Reflecting on her children’s transition into their teenage years, Willoughby said: “I feel the pulling away and I find it really hard, I find that bit really, really difficult.”

“My kids are like the best thing that I've done, they're the best thing, I just look at them and I go, ‘Well done.’ They are pretty brilliant, but they are now getting teenagery and I'm like okay you're going to go and have a life without me.”

Willoughby’s Together series began streaming this week, and marks an attempt by the presenter to reinvigorate her career three years after stepping down from her regular presenting role on the ITV chat show This Morning.

The British TV personality stepped down from the series in 2023, months after her long-standing co-presenter, Phillip Schofield, departed the show amid a scandal over an extra-marital affair with a younger junior co-worker.

Reviewing the first episode of Willoughby’s YouTube series this week, The Independent’s Annabel Nugent compared it to the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix reality show With Love, Meghan.

“Like With Love, Meghan, Together is a lifestyle show whose main (only?) selling point is the very famous woman at its centre,” she writes. “Where Willoughby has the edge on her American counterpart, though, is her natural charm – something that takes no effort on her part, and in fact flows freely in the moments of Together when she’s not so focused on doing things differently for the sake of a rebrand.

“Production-wise, Together could do with a bit of Meghan’s Netflix budget,” she adds. “In addition to the static studio cameras, footage is also shot on what appears to be a shaky handheld. Ostensibly, the goal is to evoke a more approachable lens than the high-gloss look of This Morning, but the result is something like The Blair Witch Project filmed inside a Habitat store.”
