I’m not particularly body confident and so, as a UK size 12, I look for dresses that are flattering across the tummy, drawing the eyes away from that area and towards my waist and legs instead. This maxi sundress did the job well, with the floaty split-hem skirt providing just enough of a leg peak, while the waist tie allowed me to give my figure a more cinched silhouette.
The linen-cotton fabric doesn’t look cheap, despite the dress’s affordability. In fact, my only criticism of the material would be that the double layered panels (around the bust area and down the split hem) can flap open – so I’d prefer if these were stitched or secured down.
On my chest and bust, the halter design proved slightly too long, so I imagine I’d need to invest in some double-sided fabric tape if an evening of wedding boogieing was ahead of me. It could also be worth sizing down to ensure a more supportive top.
Overall, I’d be happy to wear this sundress to a summer wedding and I don’t think it warrants too many accessories.

This mini dress from Asos Design is undoubtedly a more casual approach to wedding dressing – but that’s not to say you can’t make it work. Paired with a pair of espadrille wedges, a straw boater, a statement bag and set of sophisticated earrings, this cropped number will hold its own in the company of chiffon dresses and silk dicky bows.
Unfortunately, the fabric is visibly cheaper, so I’d recommend a good iron or steam before heading out for the day. You might even want to consider starching it for a longer-lasting press. Thankfully, the cotton-linen blend will be breathable amid the summer heat and the square-neck design means you won’t have to fret over stick-on bras and clear (read, obvious to everyone around you) bra straps.
The fit is flattering with vertical seams that outline your figure, while the fabric-covered buttons are an elegant addition that make getting the dress on and off a breeze. It’s machine washable, which is always helpful, and you’ll definitely get wear out of it beyond weddings and special occasions.

If the wedding dress code allows for cocktail dresses, this satin frock from Asos ticks the box while remaining formal enough to carry you through all wedding’s events. In a gorgeous plum colourway, the dress is easily styled with kitten heels or ballet flats and can be accessorised with both gold and silver jewellery.
The satin-style fabric gives the dress an attractive movement that is enhanced by its glossy appearance, but is gently tailored enough at the waist to flatter your figure. Making it feel on trend but still timeless, I love the deep off the shoulder style that almost grazes my elbow.
Perfect for tall girls, I ordered a size 10 and the skirt was long enough for my 5ft9in stature – if anything I would size down if you want the skirt a little shorter. For just £34, the price is hard to beat and I can see myself throwing it on come evening soirees or New Year’s Eve celebrations.

It comes in a few colourways, but I chose the gorgeous powder blue and brown combination, which feels effortlessly elegant and is guaranteed to turn heads.
Despite its fitted shape, the fabric has enough stretch to skim the body comfortably without feeling overly tight. This makes it a great choice for long days that start with the ceremony and end on the dance floor. During testing, I found the material felt well made and far more premium than its price tag suggests. Pair it with simple heels and understated jewellery to let the print take centre stage, and you've got a wedding guest outfit that's both timeless and on trend.

Overall, it’s an elegant, chic choice for anyone looking for a romantic occasion dress, particularly those with a smaller bust.

If the occasion calls for more coverage and a simpler design, this midi dress from Asos hits the brief. The silhouette is elegant with a high neck (that’s subtle rather than restricting), a drape that brings you in at the waist and an open back.
The fabric feels super soft and its glossy, silky-effect gives the dress some movement. I think the dusty blue colour would suit both a summer and winter wedding, though for the latter you’d need to layer with a tailored wool coat or fur jacket as the material is quite thin.
On the quality, the affordable price is slightly reflected and I wouldn't say it's the best made dress I've ever owned. That being said, I love the overall look – plus it’s easy to accessorise with gold or silver jewellery and has great size inclusivity.
