The Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary G. Eswaraiah has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to order an independent inquiry into the allotment of solar rooftop projects to M/s Maheshwari Projects Pvt. Ltd., alleging irregularities in the firm’s empanelment process and the submission of questionable documents.

In a letter to Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, Mr. Eswaraiah alleged that the company continued to receive project allocations from the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) despite repeated complaints regarding its eligibility and experience credentials.

He referred to a tender floated by NREDCAP for the installation of 378 kWp grid-connected solar rooftop systems at the Area Hospital and Homoeo Government General Hospital-cum-Medical College in Gudivada, besides seven APVVP hospitals in Krishna district.

According to the complaint, the company had declared a turnover of ₹26.15 lakh during the 2022-23 empanelment process for projects of up to 100 kWp capacity. However, during the 2023-24 empanelment process for projects of up to 500 kWp capacity, it reportedly declared a turnover of ₹23.24 lakh, raising questions over the basis of its eligibility for higher-capacity projects.

Mr. Eswaraiah alleged that the company had relied on questionable turnover certificates, test reports, work orders, commissioning certificates and experience documents to secure empanelment. He also questioned the issuance of a genuineness certificate by NREDCAP despite pending complaints and requests for verification.

The CPI leader further alleged that the company was awarded a work order on September 4, 2025, for the installation of a 66 kWp grid-connected solar rooftop system at the Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation headquarters in Vijayawada. He urged the government to order an independent inquiry into the allegations and take appropriate action if any irregularities were established.
