The SOF Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the update on Facebook, Ukrinform says.

According to updated information regarding the emergency at the training ground of one of the military units in Khmelnytskyi, the ammunition detonation had stopped as of 19:00.

Three SOF servicemen were injured in the incident and were hospitalized, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.

In addition, contact has been lost with five SOF servicemen. Search and inspection operations are currently underway at the site.

Relevant law enforcement authorities have opened criminal proceedings. The preliminary legal classification is violation of rules for handling weapons, as well as substances and items posing an increased danger to the surrounding environment, resulting in bodily injuries to several people (Part 2, Article 414 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The SOF are providing all necessary information and assistance to establish the circumstances and cause of the incident.

Khmelnytskyi

As reported by Ukrinform, several explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi at a time when no air raid alert was active in the city.

Later, the SOF reported that an emergency had occurred at the training ground of one of the military units in the Khmelnytskyi region, resulting in an explosion followed by ammunition detonation.

Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation had previously reported that four people were injured.
