He wrote about this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“Terror is one of the Russians’ methods of waging war and a sign that they are failing to achieve their political goals through military means. Today’s assassination attempt is proof that we are doing everything right and effectively eliminating the enemy on the battlefield,” Obolensky noted.
He thanked everyone for their attention and concern, which, in his words, confirms that “our work is important to Ukrainians.”
He also expressed separate gratitude for the support of President Volodymyr Zelensky and the people of Ukraine.
“An assassination attempt is a sign of the enemy’s fear. And our retaliation will make them fear us even more,” stated the commander of “Khartiia.”

assassinationplot against Khartiia Commander
As reported by Ukrinform, President Zelensky stated that an assassination attempt was made today against “Khartiia” commander Ihor Obolenskyi. The attacker and an accomplice were detained.
One of those detained was a 69-year-old resident of Kharkiv.
According to the investigation, Russian special services recruited the pensioner by posing as SSU officers. The man was sent an AI-generated image of the “Khartiia” commander standing on Red Square in Moscow, wearing a T-shirt with the letter “Z.” The suspect was tasked with eliminating Obolensky as someone who was allegedly “working for the enemy.”
