LUCENA CITY — Harmful sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions from Taal Volcano in Batangas province have declined, while seismic activity also eased over the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Saturday, Aug. 1. In its morning bulletin, Phivolcs said only 300 metric tons of sulfur dioxide were emitted from the volcano’s main crater during the monitoring period.
