Leaders and functionaries who joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) from other political parties will soon be given party posts after obtaining the approval of party president and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, TVK general secretary and Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand said on Saturday (August 1, 2026).
Speaking at an event at the party headquarters in Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai, where members of various political parties joined the TVK, Mr. Anand said the party’s sole objective was to serve the people. He said the party and the government would never compromise on corruption.
“If anyone indulges in corruption, the Chief Minister will remove them immediately,” Mr. Anand said, expressing confidence that the TVK would secure a big victory in the local body elections.
Mr. Anand’s remarks assume significance against the backdrop of former AIADMK Ministers C. Vijayabaskar, M.R. Vijayabhaskar, M.C. Sampath, Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan and Kadambur. C. Raju, among others, joining the TVK but yet to be given party posts.
