A worker in her 20s is in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest after being caught in the equipment of an amusement park attraction in Tokyo while inspecting it on Tuesday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department and other sources.

At around 11:55 a.m., an emergency call was made to report the accident at Tokyo Dome City Attractions in the capital's Bunkyo Ward.

According to the MPD and others, the accident occurred at the Flying Balloon attraction featuring 12 seats that rise to a height of 10 meters around a pole.

The employee's upper body was apparently stuck between a seat and the pole, investigative sources said. A disaster medical assistance team and other officials are working to rescue her. There were multiple people around her when the accident occurred.

The MPD is investigating the cause of the accident.

Public relations officials of the facility's operator said that the attraction equipment had been undergoing routine maintenance since earlier on Tuesday morning. The operator said that the amusement park is closed for the day due to the accident.
