PBA: NLEX improves to 5-0 after fending off Converge

MANILA, Philippines—NLEX kept its record unblemished in the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup with a 119-107 win over Converge at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The Road Warriors hiked their record to a league-best 5-0 card in Group A.

“We just wanted to stay composed and be aggressive,” Schonny Winston said, after dropping 24 points in the win. “They’re [Converge] a really good team with a lot of stars so we really had to lock in to get this win.”

It was a game of runs, with NLEX pulling away late in the fourth quarter.

With the score tied at 88-all entering the payoff period, the Road Warriors began the fourth with a 14-3 run to build a 102-91 lead.

The FiberXers responded with a 12-3 rally capped off by a Justine Baltazar basket with 5:28 remaining to trim the deficit to two, 105-103.

DeQuan Jones, who finished with 28 points and nine rebounds, answered with a layup at the 5:14 mark to spark the decisive 10-0 run that gave NLEX a commanding 115-103 lead with 3:41 to play.

Robert Bolick finished just a rebound shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 10 assists and nine boards. Anthony Semerad and Kevin Alas helped the cause with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Jamaal Franklin top scored for the FiberXers, who dropped to 3-3, with 26 points. Mikey Williams and Justin Arana, meanwhile, had 18 and 16 points.
