MANILA, Philippines — Aparri in Cagayan may experience scorching heat on Wednesday, April 22, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its heat index bulletin dated April 21, PAGASA said Aparri may experience heat index levels of 42°C, placing it under the "danger" category.

Under the "danger" heat index classification, temperatures between 42°C and 51°C may be felt.

Most areas across the country are under the “extreme caution” classification, or temperatures ranging from 33°C to 41°C.

The highest expected heat index on Monday under this category is in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, at 41°C.

In Metro Manila, readings from the PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City and NAIA in Pasay City are also under the "extreme caution" classification.

The PAGASA Science Garden is expected to record a heat index of 37°C on Tuesday and 38°C on Wednesday, April 23, while NAIA is expected to reach 38°C on both days.
