Reina Filipinas candidates get ‘splashy’ in swimsuit portraits

The pioneer batch of Reina Filipinas candidates got wet for the pageant’s official swimsuit photoshoot, the images were released on social media.

With ace lensman Mark Neto Diaz behind the camera, the 21 aspirants got “splashy” as they did their poses sprawled on a black floor, in ankle-deep water.

Their two-piece swimsuits in gold lamé from Pegarro Swim by designer Julius Pegarro complemented the strappy gold “All Star” Jojo Bragais heels.

The images came out after the new national pageant released the candidates’ official headshots, which had them in indigenous woven fabric and dangling earrings.

Reina Filipinas is a new national pageant under the leadership of reigning Miss Grand International Emma Tiglao as national director. International pageant shoe designer is the organization’s president.

Miss Grand International founder and Pres. Nawat Itsaragisil, who was recently appointed as Miss Universe Eastern Chief Executive Officer, is the new pageant’s executive partner.

Reina Filipinas’ inaugural staging this year will choose the Philippines’ delegate to the 2026 Miss Grand International pageant in India in October. Two more winners will be crowned to compete at the second edition of MGI All Stars in Thailand in December.

The Grand Coronation Night will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Newport World Resorts in Pasay City on Friday, Aug. 7. /edv
