SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- One Marine officer was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at an off-base housing unit in the southeastern city of Pohang on Monday, military officials said.

Military authorities and local police launched a joint investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, the Marine Corps said, without providing further details.
