SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., said Monday its July sales rose 30.6 percent from a year earlier, driven by strong overseas demand for its sport utility vehicles (SUVs).

The automaker sold 42,199 vehicles worldwide last month, marking the sixth month this year that its sales exceeded 40,000 units.

GM Korea exported 41,353 vehicles in July, while domestic sales totaled 766 units.

Overseas sales were led by the Trax Crossover, which sold 26,822 units, up 48.1 percent from a year earlier. The Trailblazer followed with 15,531 units.
