MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Monday insisted that there was no special treatment given to former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. after he was released from the Quezon City Jail following the Sandiganbayan’s approval of his bail petition in one of his criminal cases linked to the public works corruption scandal. The bail was granted by the Sandiganbayan Third Division, where Revilla has been on trial since January for malversation of public funds. The bail petitions of his co-accused, however, were denied.
