Mahershala Ali leads the latest trailer for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, Bassam Tariq’s upcoming drama-thriller that pairs the Oscar winner with Severance star Tramell Tillman and Giancarlo Esposito.

The new trailer centres on Latif, played by the two-time Academy Award winner, a devout Muslim and professional hitman whose carefully compartmentalised life collapses after the sudden death of his wife. Left to care for his children while navigating Houston’s criminal underworld, Latif embarks on a desperate journey that forces him to confront both the enemies pursuing his family and the crisis of faith growing within himself.

The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast led by John Cho, Tiffany Boone, Abubakr Ali, Laith Nakli, Adia and Jahleel Kamara. Son Lux, whose acclaimed work includes Everything Everywhere All at Once, has composed the score.

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother represents a significant reunion between Ali and Tariq. The pair were originally set to collaborate on Marvel Studios’ Blade before that project underwent a major creative overhaul. Rather than abandoning their partnership, they channelled those years of development into this original story. Speaking recently, Ali described the film as one of the most rewarding creative experiences of his career, while Tariq revealed that the screenplay drew heavily from personal experiences and conversations within Houston’s Muslim community.

The film will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening in select theatres on September 25, followed by a wider expansion on October 9 through Amazon MGM Studios and Orion Pictures.
