That is according to Detector Media, citing journalist Anna Kaliuzhna, who disclosed the information on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the outlet, the service will investigate allegations of unlawful orders and incidents of violence in the regiment. The Armed Forces' Main Communications Directorate told Kaliuzhna that a "detailed analysis of all the facts and documents is currently underway."

"There should be no one above the law. If the facts of illegal actions are confirmed, those responsible will be held accountable in accordance with current legislation," the Main Communications Directorate said.

According to Kaliuzhna, this is so far the only official response from the authorities to her investigation. The journalist added that she was unaware of any criminal proceedings being opened by the relevant law enforcement agencies based on the testimony presented in the report.

For its part, Detector Media said it would submit an official inquiry to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to find out whether the agency is investigating the documented cases.

On July 30, the news site texty.org.ua published Anna Kaliuzhna's investigation into alleged gross violations of servicemen's rights in the 225th Regiment, including unlawful detention in so-called "pits," beatings, tying soldiers to a "tree of truth," and threats of execution.

Oleh Shyriaiev, commander of the 225th Assault Regiment, denied the existence of "pits" at the regiment's base and the presence of "blocking detachments." At the same time, he said he was aware of one case of beating and that those involved had been removed from their positions.
