Naked man survives 278-ft jump from the Brooklyn Bridge

A naked man jumped off the top of the Brooklyn Bridge and miraculously survived the 278-ft plunge.

Footage shows Galymzhan Abaildayev, 44, jumping off the top of the structure on Sunday (2 August). He was rescued by the New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit before being transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.

Abaildayev, who was also carrying flags, reportedly stripped down once at the top of the tower, NBC News reported.

His roommate told the New York Post that Abaildayev had planned to make the jump on his birthday, after being inspired by two people who did the same stunt the month prior.

Abaildayev has been charged with reckless endangerment, graffiti, public lewdness, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, the NYPD said.
