While it's business as usual at T-Mobile, plenty of loyal customers are angry that their plans went up in price after the carrier decided to retire legacy plans that had locked in pricing. In addition to that, the carrier has been experiencing outages, which are adding fuel to the fire.

In an effort to go back to its Un-carrier ways, the brand is now introducing new plans, along with a new payment model that will allow subscribers to extend payments out to 36 months. There's even an option to roll all device payments, taxes, and fees into one easy payment every month to keep it all simple and easy.

This could be helpful

T-Mobile shares that its latest move is an effort to tackle "the financial barrier of upfront costs and making a better wireless experience even more accessible." We've seen it all this year, with more expensive hardware and also the rising cost of services. It's not easy to pay for everything all at once. T-Mobile's solution could be helpful.

These new plans will go into effect on August 6, 2026. There's the EIP Flex 36, EIP Standard 36, and new student plans that we talked about just a few days ago. The EIP Flex 36 plan will let new and existing customers "finance the device, taxes, and fees at checkout over 36 months." The idea is that subscribers will be paying nothing upfront and out the door of the store.

The EIP Standard 36 is the traditional T-Mobile 0% interest financing plan that will now extend to 36 months. Previously, the carrier had 24-month agreements.

This isn't like the old days

Furthermore, the brand will also debut new phone plans with Essentials 2.0, Experience More 2.0, and Experience Beyond 2.0. Those on existing plans will be able to stick with the older plans or upgrade to the latest ones to get more perks. You can see the highlights of the plans verbatim from T-Mobile's press release below.

Essentials 2.0— Unlimited talk and text, 50GB of premium data, T‑Mobile Tuesdays weekly perks and more.
Experience More 2.0— Everything in Essentials 2.0, plus unlimited premium data, high-speed data in 215+ countries and destinations, mobile hotspot, Netflix on Us, Apple TV for just $3/month, a 5-year price guarantee, great deals on the latest devices and more.
Experience Beyond 2.0— Everything in Experience More 2.0, plus T-Satellite connectivity, the best entertainment streaming bundle in wireless that’s included with your plan (Hulu, Netflix and MLB.TV on Us), Apple TV for just $3/month, $5 connected device add-ons and more. And, customers who switch to Experience Beyond 2.0 can save $750 in the first year thanks to $100 back and built-in benefits worth $650.

Right now, there doesn't appear to be any pricing. So, we'll just have to wait and see just how much things change with the new 2.0 plans. Hopefully, we're not going to see any price increases with these plans. However, we'll remain skeptical until pricing goes live in a couple of days.
