‘Goin Bulilit’ alum Dagul appeals for job amid health challenges

Former “Goin’ Bulilit” mainstay Dagul made an appeal to his former colleagues in show business, saying he is willing to take on any job opportunities to support his family amid his health struggles.

The 66-year-old comedian, whose real name is Romeo Pastrana, opened up about his health and his current circumstances through a recent interview in “Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs.”

“Okay na ang health, hindi tulad dati na lagi akong nasa hospital. Ang sakit ko kasi pulmo, sleep apnea, at mino-monitor ang kidney ko,” he told vlog host Susan Enriquez, also noting that he is now struggling to walk on his own.

Pastrana admitted that his family is facing financial difficulties, which have prevented him from undergoing the medical tests he needs.

“Walang projects ngayon. Gusto ko rin nga magkaroon ng trabaho [para] sa mga bayarin namin pang-araw araw,” he said.

Turning emotional, Pastrana continued, “Ang pinakasandata ko ay magdasal. Sabi ko, ‘Lord, tulungan mo naman kami. Sana may dumating na biyaya o trabaho.'”

He also admitted feeling like a “burden” to his family, lamenting his inability to provide for them as the head of the household.

Pastrana then looked back at his stint in the kiddie gag show, expressing his joy for his co-stars including Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Belle Mariano and Kiray Celis who now have successful careers.

Addressing them, Pasrana appealed, “Sana mapansin niyo ako, kung may maitulong man kayong project. Kailangan ko ang tulong niyo.”

“Kahit palamuti lang, kahit anong role tatanggapin ko,” he added.

During the interview, Pastrana also revealed that several celebrities have extended help to him, including Benjie Paras, Long Mejia and former Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
