Annamayya District Collector Nishant Kumar directed officials on Wednesday to initiate urgent steps to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across Madanapalle town, in light of reports of disruptions in some of the municipal wards.

The Collector was conducting inspections alongside the municipal officials to assess the situation and review the steps being taken to restore normal supply.

At the Ramarao Colony sump, Mr. Nishant Kumar inspected the water distribution mechanism and instructed officials to expedite the filling of storage facilities. He directed that fire service vehicles be deployed wherever necessary to transport water and ensure that residents do not face hardship.

He directed the Transport department officials and the Motor Vehicle Inspector to coordinate with private vehicle owners if additional water tankers were required for supply operations.

Later, the Collector inspected the Vempalli tank and reviewed water availability, borewell conditions and measures being implemented to augment drinking water supply. He directed officials to streamline the distribution network and maintain constant field-level monitoring until the problem was completely resolved.

Mr. Nishanth Kumar said that all possible effort would be made to ensure safe and uninterrupted drinking water for every household in Madanapalle town.
