House commends South Korea ambassador
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has adopted a resolution commending outgoing South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa for strengthening relations between Manila and Seoul.
“President Marcos recognized Ambassador Lee’s distinguished service through the Order of Sikatuna, and under Speaker Faustino Dy III, the House is adding the voice of the Filipino people to that expression of gratitude,” the resolution read.
Lee completed on July 9 his three-year tour of duty as ambassador to the Philippines.
“His tenure helped move our partnership toward deep- er cooperation in security, agriculture, energy and trade,” House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos said.
Ten bilateral agreements on defense procurement, agricultural modernization and nuclear energy infrastructure were signed through Manila and Seoul’s strategic partnership.
