Before Baldurâs Gate 3 even launched, its explicit sex scenes were getting developer Larian in trouble on streaming platforms. The infamous bear encounter with Halsin got the studio banned from streaming on TikTok during one of its pre-release presentations, and now, three years later, YouTube shut down one of the studioâs livestreams due to âBody Exposure and Sexualized Behaviors.â
Larian has been doing weekly streams of a Dark Urge Baldurâs Gate 3 run on Twitch and YouTube for several months, but if you go to the teamâs Channel From Hell YouTube account, youâll notice that there is no VOD for the stream that went up today, August 5. You can still find it on the studioâs Twitch account, but if youâd been watching them primarily through YouTube, it looks like Larian just decided not to stream today.Â
Thatâs because YouTube decided to cut it off early, seemingly due to the sex scene between the player character and Haarlep, an incubus that mimics the form of the devil Raphael. Though Larian did attempt to cover up the naughty bits with a graphic of a D20, you can definitely see whatâs going on, including all of the nudity found therein, and yeah. YouTube apparently brought down the hammer on the stream after the agonizingly long sex segment.

The folks at Larian seem to be taking it in stride, at least. Hopefully Twitch doesnât also get involved. Then where will we get to see the end of Larianâs Dark Urge run? Kick? No thank you.
Larian told Kotaku in 2023 that the Haarlep sex scene was one of the more challenging to create because it is one of the more straightforward romps in Baldurâs Gate 3, which the gameâs intimacy coordinators helped make work during mo-cap sessions.
âItâs very physical and probably closest to a traditional live-action sex scene and required the most discussion beforehand,â performance director Greg Lidstone said. âWe ensured the set was closed, that everyone understood what the goals were, and that we all felt comfortable with what we were doing.â
