In a case of mistaken identity, a gang threw molotov cocktail into a house where a 60-year-old woman was residing in Periamet on Tuesday. The police arrested two history-sheeters involved in this case.

Police said B. Kalaivani, a resident of Naval hospital Road in Periamet, was rudely shaken when a gang of three persons in two-wheelers came and threw a petrol bomb and fled from the scene.

Immediately officials from Periamet station visited the house and tracing the CCTV footage arrested two history-sheeters Tyson, 23, alias Prasanth, and Madhavan alias Alavandhan, who were both designated as ‘C’ category rowdies.

Investigation revealed that the incident took place due to a turf war between the accused gang and another gang, headed by N. Vijayanarayanan, a ‘B’ category history-sheeter, who resides in the same compound on the NH Road.

The Periamet police are searching for the third offender involved in the case.
