The investigation established that the enemy had designated as priority targets for the suspect the locations with the highest concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In addition, the agent attempted to identify radar stations, positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, and mobile fire groups.

To facilitate strikes against these targets, the agent roamed the city and photographed the Defense Forces’ locations using his phone’s camera.

The suspect also documented the aftermath of attacks on Odesa to help coordinate follow-up strikes.

SSU officers detained the suspect while he was photographing the outer perimeter of one of the military facilities with his smartphone.

According to the case file, the spotter was a local unemployed man who Russian special services had recruited. He was part of an agent network working for the traitor Serhiy Lebedev (alias “Lokhmaty”), who is in hiding in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk and collaborates simultaneously with the FSB and Russian military intelligence.

During a search of the detainee’s premises, authorities seized computer equipment and a phone containing photo and video files, as well as geolocation data for potential targets.

SSU investigators informed him that he was suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

The suspect was taken into custody without the right to post bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As reported by Ukrinform, the SSU detained two individuals who directed Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia; one of them is a former head of the supply department at a local defense plant, while the other was evading the draft.
