Sassa Gurl apologizes to AC Bonifacio over ‘Kapuso walang plastikan’ joke

Sassa Gurl apologized to AC Bonifacio following the backlash over her “Kapuso walang plastikan” joke during the media conference of Regal Entertainment’s upcoming film “Saving Cherry.”

In a post on X on Wednesday, Aug. 5, Sassa took accountability for her remarks, saying she realized there is a time and place for her humor.

“Saw all your tweets and messages, kinda deserved ko naman talaga ang mabunot, as a queer person who represents the baklang kanal girlies, I realized na dapat nga naman talaga ilugar ang kakanalan,” she wrote.

The content creator thanked those who called her out, saying the incident was “another opportunity” for her to grow as she extended her apologies to Bonifacio.

“I stand by being real but hindi excuse ito be taklesa. Sa nasabi ko i take accountability for that, thank you sa mga nagcall out, another opportunity for me to grow as a new artist in showbiz, at syempre to my sister ms. Ac sorry ma for putting you into a very vulnerable situation,” expressed Sassa.

Bonifacio later reposted Sassa’s apology and responded, “All love guys!”

The issue stemmed from Sassa’s banter during the press conference for “Saving Cherry,” which stars Barbie Forteza.

While talking about working on the film, Bonifacio, who is an ABS-CBN talent, said, “I’m usually surrounded by Kapamilyas.”

Sassa then quipped, “Naloka ka sa mga Kapuso, no? Walang plastikan.”

Bonifacio immediately replied, “Ay, uy, wala akong sinasabi.”

Sassa clarified that she was joking, saying, “Joke lang po, banter lang.”

Bonifacio then ended the exchange by saying, “I love my network. To my Star Magic family, I love you.”

The interaction later circulated online, with some netizens criticizing Sassa for what they described as an out-of-place joke that placed Bonifacio in an uncomfortable situation. /ra
