KORONADAL CITY -The municipal government of Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur has declared the town under a state of calamity after widespread flooding affected at least 4,700 families across the municipality. The Sangguniang Bayan approved the declaration during its regular session last Tuesday, allowing the local government to immediately use its calamity fund for relief operations and other emergency response measures. According to the resolution, days of continuous rains that began on July 23 caused the Buluan River to swell and overflow, flooding communities across the town.
