Samsung on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) launched the eighth generation of foldable phones including Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 in India. The South Korean company introduced an Ultra variant for the first time in their foldable portfolio. The launch also includes Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9.

These Galaxy Z8 series phones run on One UI 9 based on Android 17 out of the box. Samsung will offer 7 years of OS and 7 years of security updates to the phones.

Samsung said that Indians are using foldables for content consumption, to enhance their productivity with AI and camera.

In terms of design, Samsung has moved to flex titanium plate in the foldable phones.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has an 8 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with 2504 x 2256 resolution, 422 ppi, a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. It uses a 6.5 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with 1080 x 2520 resolution, 422 ppi and a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The book style foldable phone bears 215 grams of weight and is 4.1mm thick in unfoled and 8.9mm in folded state.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on cover and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 at the back.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra ships with a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 45W wired and 20W wireless charging. The phone is IP48 rated for water and dust protection.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra sports a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 10 MP telephoto camera. For selfies, it has got a 10 MP lens on cover and a 10 MP camera on the main screen.

Galaxy Z Fold 8

Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a 7.6 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with 1848 x 2448 resolution, 422 ppi, a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. It uses a 5.5 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display having 1248 x 1972 resolution, 422 ppi and a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The passport style foldable phone has 201 grams of weight. It is 4.5mm in unfolded form and 9.7mm in folded mode.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 gets Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection at the back.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 ships with a 4,800 mAh battery and supports 45W wired and 20W wireless charging. The phone is IP48 rated for water ingress.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 sports a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. It uses a 10 MP lens on cover and a 10 MP camera on the main screen.

Galaxy Z Flip 8

Galaxy Z Flip 8 has a 6.9 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with 1080 x 2520 resolution, 400 ppi, a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. It uses a 4.1 inch HD+ Super AMOLED cover display having 422 ppi and a 60-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The Z Flip 8 claims 180 grams of weight. It measures 6.1mm in unfolded form and 13.1mm when folded.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 is being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on for cover and glass fiber-reinforced polymer at the back.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 ships with a 4,300 mAh battery and supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. It is also IP48 rated for water protection.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 runs on Exynos 2600 processor with up to 12 GB RAM and 512 TB storage.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 sports a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. It has a 10 MP lens for selfies.

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has 1.52 inch Super AMOLED display with 5,000 nits peak brightness. Available in 47mm dial, the Watch Ultra 2 gets 2 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The Watch Ultra 2 ships with an 800 mAh battery.

Both Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 use Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor.

Galaxy Watch Ultra runs on Wear OS based on Samsung’s OS 7 and One UI 9 Watch. The Bluetooth supporting smartwatch bears IP69K rating for water resistance and is 10ATM certified.

Galaxy Watch 9

The Galaxy Watch 9 has a 1.47 inch Super AMOLED AOD display with 3,000 nits peak brightness. It ships with a 445 mAh battery. It will be available in 40mm and 44mm dials. It also operates and run on the same OS and platform. Galaxy Watch 9 is IP68 rated and bears 5ATM certification.

Pricing and Availability

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at ₹1,99,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB variant, ₹2,19,999 for 12 GB/512 GB and ₹2,25,999 for the 16 GB/1 TB. It will be available in Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow and Green Shadow (online exclusive) shades.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 begins at ₹1,79,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB, ₹1,99,999 for the 12 GB/512 GB and ₹2,39,999 for 16 GB/1 TB. It will sell in Graphite, Cream, Lavender and Pistachio (online exclusive) colours.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be available at ₹1,24,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB and ₹1,44,999 for 12 GB/512 GB. It comes in Graphite, Cream, Pink and Mint (online exclusive) hues.

Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 prices will be revealed later for India market.
