CHOLPON-ATA /Kyrgyzstan/, August 6. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan views the Russian market as one of the key destinations for promoting its products, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said.

"The Kyrgyz Republic views the Russian market as one of the key destinations for promoting domestic products," he said in an address to participants of the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum.

Japarov expressed confidence that the further expansion of trade and economic cooperation and the creation of favorable conditions for mutual trade would make it possible to "significantly expand the presence of Kyrgyz products on the Russian market and open up new opportunities for businesses in the two countries."

The 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum is taking place in the city of Cholpon-Ata located on the shores of the resort lake Issyk-Kul. Representatives from dozens of companies from both countries are participating in the event. Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund Artyom Novikov said earlier that in terms of the number of documents signed and the total value of contracts this year’s forum would significantly surpass the one held last year, which saw agreements worth around $270 mln signed.
