It is noted that Zelensky received the Azerbaijani foreign minister, who arrived on his first visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The head of state thanked Azerbaijan and personally President Ilham Aliyev for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, for providing energy and humanitarian aid, and for engaging in constructive dialogue.

“We are very grateful that, during these difficult days for our country and our people, you found the opportunity to come and support us,” Zelensky said.

The President briefed Bayramov on the ongoing Russian strikes against Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and Russia’s blockade of grain corridors, which threatens global food security.

They also discussed Ukraine’s responses to Russian attacks and public sentiment in Russia.

Zelensky briefed the Azerbaijani foreign minister on high-level diplomatic contacts—including meetings in Washington—and on current developments in the diplomatic process as a whole.

For his part, Bayramov expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people and shared his impressions of Irpin, where he visited a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center supported by Azerbaijan.

The minister pledged continued humanitarian support and the development of bilateral relations.

“You can fully rely on us and our political support. And, as you well know, Mr. President, we are quite vocal and straightforward when it comes to our full solidarity with Ukraine, its territorial integrity, and the inviolability of Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders,” he noted.

The meeting also covered defense cooperation—specifically the Drone Deal—as well as economic cooperation in the energy, oil and gas, and agricultural sectors.

In addition, the two leaders discussed the status of implementing the agreements reached by the presidents of both countries during Zelenskyy’s visit to Azerbaijan.
