Marvel's new X-Men team is gradually taking shape as Marvel has found a new Scott Summers. According to a new report from Deadline, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Cyclops will be played by Heartstopper star Kit Connor. He joins Samara Weaving as Emma Frost in director Jake Schreier's X-Men movie.

Though only 22 years old, Connor has carved out quite the filmography for himself. He's best known for playing Nick Nelson in Netflix's Heartstopper series and film Heartstopper Forever. He also played a young Elton John in Rocketman and starred in A24's Warfare. He's starring in the upcoming Elden Ring movie adaptation alongside Cailee Spaeny, who's been rumored for the role of Rogue in the MCU X-Men movie.

Marvel Studios has not officially announced any casting for its X-Men movie. Its parent company Disney is holding a D23 fan event next week, and we wouldn't be surprised if Marvel formally announced the new cast of mutants to mark the occasion.

Weaving's Frost and Connor's Cyclops won't be the first mutants in the MCU. At the end of Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan was revealed to be a mutant, and the comics soon followed suit by picking up the plot point. What's more, Sadie Sink's mystery role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day was revealed to be none other than Jean Grey, one of the original members of the X-Men.

As for Cyclops himself, you'll see his comics-accurate costume in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, where he's played by James Marsden. He'll be flanked by other returning veterans from the Fox X-Men films, like Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Speaking of Mystique: Obsession star Inde Navarrette has met with Schreier and would love to don the blue body paint of Mystique, though Variety says she hasn't been cast in any MCU role just yet.
