President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in an evening video address, according to Ukrinform.

“Our FREYJA program—a joint European anti-ballistic missile system—is already in full swing. Ten countries are participating, and more of our partners will join. These are partners who can provide real support. We have already agreed on this,” he said.

Zelensky expressed his gratitude to all companies willing to work within the framework of the anti-ballistic coalition.

He assured that Ukraine is capable of manufacturing its own missile and launch system, while its partners will provide the necessary components and critical elements: radars, sensors, and more.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine must join the ranks of “anti-ballistic” states. To this end, he added, all the necessary conditions are being created.

The President hopes to see concrete results by the turn of 2026–2027.

The President noted that Ukraine is working on developing its own anti-ballistic missiles. He reported that tests of these missiles have shown promising results.

FREYJA is a promising pan-European project for an integrated air and missile defense system focused on intercepting ballistic missiles, which Ukraine is developing jointly with European countries with the participation of Fire Point as a cheaper and mass-produced alternative to the American Patriot air defense systems.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting on the preparation of Ukraine’s ballistic missile program and the implementation of the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile project. According to him, Ukraine expects to see results as early as 2026–2027.
