MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to issue subpoenas to four lawyers allegedly tasked with creating a “script,” or fabricated statements, for a “honey trap” plot targeting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto. In an interview on Friday, NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the subpoenas will be issued on Monday, requiring the lawyers to appear before the bureau on Aug. 14. The move came after a talent manager arrested in a human trafficking case on Thursday submitted a supplemental affidavit identifying the four lawyers by name and providing their photographs.
