School Education Commissioner Tameem Ansaria on Friday dismissed as baseless the allegations circulating on social media that candidates had been unfairly denied jobs in Mega DSC-2025 because vacancies were allotted to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.

Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat in Amaravati along with SAAP Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director Bharani, the Commissioner said all appointments were made strictly in accordance with merit, roster points and reservation rules, including the horizontal reservation policy prescribed under G.O. Ms. No.77 dated August 2, 2023. She urged candidates and the public not to be misled by misinformation regarding the recruitment process.

The Commissioner clarified that the revised horizontal reservation system no longer earmarks separate roster points for women, PwBD candidates, ex-servicemen and meritorious sportspersons. Instead, eligible candidates under these categories are adjusted within their respective vertical reservation categories. Selection of a PwBD candidate, therefore, does not amount to replacing a more meritorious candidate but is part of the legally mandated reservation framework.

Highlighting the scale of the recruitment exercise, Ms. Ansaria said 3.36 lakh candidates appeared for Mega DSC-2025 after submitting 5.77 lakh applications for 16,347 teacher vacancies. The computer-based examination was conducted in 154 centres over 24 days in 89 sessions. After publishing the preliminary key and response sheets, objections were examined by subject experts, followed by publication of final keys and normalised scores. After certificate verification, 15,941 candidates were approved for appointment. The authorities also resolved more than 32,695 queries and 1,135 grievances during the recruitment process, she added.

Sports DSC

Responding to allegations regarding Sports Mega DSC-2025, Ms. Bharani said the claims relating to sports certificates were also false. She said the certificates submitted by the candidates, including Pinjari Ismail Basha and Shaik Anwar Basha, were verified through the Andhra Pradesh State Judo Association and other prescribed procedures before their selection under the sports quota.

She informed that SAAP had immediately lodged complaints with the Vijayawada Police Commissioner and the NTR District Police Commissioner after an alleged audio conversation related to sports quota recruitment surfaced. Based on SAAP’s complaint, the Cyber Crime Police registered an FIR, investigated the case and arrested the accused.

Ms. Bharani said all decisions in Sports Mega DSC-2025 were taken only after official verification, in accordance with government orders and recruitment rules, and not on the basis of unverified social media allegations.
