Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has favoured a comprehensive action plan to leverage Artificial Intelligence in augmenting GST revenue of the State.

The Government would soon unveil a programme based on artificial intelligence that will simplify the system and ensure accelerated growth in the State economy. He wanted officials concerned to take steps to ensure that businesses are not adversely affected with the new system.

The Chief Minister held discussions with noted economist and former chief economic advisor Arvind Subramanian on the planned strategy to enhance revenues in view of the rapid growth in the State economy here on Friday.

The meeting focussed on the reforms that should be ushered in the Commercial Taxes department, Excise and GST in particular. Mr. Subramanian explained about the technologies that help in augmenting revenues and simultaneously promote Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).

He wanted the State Government to focus on arresting revenue leakages in the construction and building equipment through effective coordination among Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj, Energy, Commercial Taxes and RERA through AI. Officials should ensure that tax estimates pertaining to the construction costs of high rises and contract works were recorded at the time receiving applications for permissions.

In addition, an effective connect between Mee Seva, Aarogyasri and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would go a long way in providing effective administration.
