NEW DELHI: India has formally identified 27 locations in Arunachal Pradesh by their standard names on the official map of the country, a move that comes amid China's repeated attempts to rename places in the border state.

Chinese troops entered the area in 1959, years before the 1962 war.Jaswant Singh Rawat, while the Sher-e-Thapa Memorial honours 1962 war hero Trilok Singh Thapa.
