Saudi Aramco’s industrial firefighting teams extinguished a fire that broke out early on Sunday (August 9, 2026) at a facility belonging to the company’s refinery in Jizan, the Saudi Energy Ministry said on X.

“No injuries were reported,” the Ministry said, adding that the “relevant authorities were completing the necessary procedures to deal with the incident”.

The Ministry did not immediately specify the cause of the fire.

Jizan is on the Red Sea near the border with Yemen. There has been no official Saudi confirmation so far that the latest Jazan fire was caused by a Houthi attack.

The reports come against the backdrop of renewed tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, which announced a naval blockade of Riyadh in the Red Sea, particularly along the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, last month, citing Saudi blockade of Yemen – a claim that Riyadh had rejected.
