Apart from the horrifying murders he has committed behind bars, the prison life of 'Hannibal the Cannibal' serial killer Robert Maudsley is shrouded in mystery.
There were rumours of him being caged in a specially-built plastic cell with cardboard furniture to stop him from creating weapons. But those have never been proven.
Guards are said to be terrified of him, inmates wary, but his family know him as 'Uncle Bob' a now elderly victim of an oppressive prison system.
Incarcerated in a special unit for the nation's most problematic offenders at a high security jail - little is known of Maudsley's current regime.
That is, until now.
