Mounties in northern Alberta say they’ve found human remains belonging to a 12-year-old Edmonton resident.

RCMP in Athabasca say they’ve also deemed the death of the youth a homicide.

Police say the remains, who they identified as Fiasal Hussein, were found early Thursday.

An autopsy was done a day later.

A chief medical examiner then ruled the 12-year-old’s death a homicide.

Police are asking anyone who might have been recording early Thursday morning on their dash cams near the northern hamlet of Calling Lake, or in surrounding areas, to contact investigators.
