Epsom rampage: Accused due back in court today
The 49 year-old man accused of a rampage in the Auckland suburb of Epsom last week is due back in court on Monday afternoon.
The man - who has interim name suppression - was to appear last week before Judge Grant Fraser adjourned the matter.
The man is accused of assaulting a jogger, taking a car and running down three cyclists before crashing into other cars.
He is also accused of trying to take another car before killing a woman's dog on the footpath.
The entire spree took less than eight minutes and resulted in the three cyclists - high school boys out training as part of a cycling club - being hospitalised, one of which remains in a critical condition.
The 49-year-old accused has been in Auckland City Hospital due to medical concerns but is under close police supervision.
