3 construction workers nabbed inside Talisay City drug den

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Three construction workers were arrested after authorities dismantled an alleged drug den during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu, on Sunday morning, August 9.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cebu Provincial Office and the Talisay City Police Station conducted the operation at 9:13 a.m.

PDEA-7 identified the alleged drug den maintainer and target of the operation as alias “Lucio,” 56, a construction worker and resident of Barangay San Isidro.

Three arrested, all first-time offenders

Also arrested were alias “Dizon,” 41, and alias “Edmund,” 52, both construction workers and residents of the same barangay.

Authorities said the three were arrested during the operation after they completed a buy-bust transaction.

Operatives confiscated six packs of suspected shabu weighing approximately 11.12 grams, with a standard market value of ₱75,616.

They also seized the buy-bust money, one cellular phone, and various drug paraphernalia.

The operation stemmed from information a confidential informant had provided. About a week of case buildup followed, according to authorities.

Investigators alleged that the drug den had been used to facilitate the disposal of 5 grams of shabu weekly.

Authorities said that all three arrested individuals are first-time offenders.

Charges prepared

The seized drug evidence was turned over to the PDEA-7 Regional Office Laboratory for examination and disposition.

As of Monday, August 10, the three suspects remained detained at the PDEA-7 facility in Lahug, Cebu City.

Cases for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared. Authorities will file these agains the three workers before the prosecutor’s office.
