You can now pay for apps on Google Play using your Venmo account

• Google Play now lets users link their Venmo accounts for payments.
• You can pay for apps and in-app purchases using either your Venmo balance or cards linked to your Venmo account.

Google’s introducing another way to pay for stuff on Google Pay. You’re now able to link your Venmo account to your Google Play account, letting you pay for apps and in-app purchases using either your Venmo balance or a card you’ve connected to Venmo.

Google announced the new option in a blog post this morning. Venmo joins Cash App Pay and PayPal as third-party payment options on the Play Store.

If you’re a regular Venmo user, it might be appealing to link up your Venmo account with the Play Store to spend an accumulated balance, or to avoid sharing your payment info with Google directly.

This option was actually available for some of us at Android Authority late last week, but Google says that Venmo integration with Google Play is available widely starting today.

To link your Venmo account, open the Play Store app, then tap your profile picture in the top right corner. From there, tap Payments & subscriptions, then Payment methods. Scroll down, and you should see an option to *Add Venmo. *
