Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy on Monday said the coalition government was taking steps to provide a permanent solution to drinking water problems in Puttaparthi town.
The MLA performed special prayers before launching the drilling of two new borewells at Prashanthi Colony ward. Former Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy and Municipal officials were also present.
Speaking to the media, Ms. Sindhura Reddy said that the new borewells were being commissioned with the drinking water requirements of the residents in mind. She said that efforts were also being made to strengthen water supply infrastructure and to ensure uninterrupted access to safe drinking water.
The MLA urged the residents to bring water-related problems to the notice of officials, assuring that prompt measures would be taken to resolve them.
Meanwhile, Mr. Raghunatha Reddy said that drinking water infrastructure in Puttaparthi would be further strengthened with future requirements in mind.
Cadres of the coalition parties, municipal workers and colony residents attended the programme.
