A female kidnap victim, identified as Mrs Paulina Alfred, was on Tuesday rescued by troops of Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, after her abductors reportedly abandoned her following intense pressure from the troops.

According to counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the 47-year-old woman, who was kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, was successfully rescued by the troops in an intense operation following distress calls from members of the community.

In a post on his platform, quoting military sources, Makama said the troops launched a search operation at about 7:00 am and tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.

He stated that the troops subsequently came under pressure as they intensified their search, forcing the kidnappers to abandon the victim and flee into the surrounding area.

“Mrs Alfred was found and rescued by the troops without further harm.

“Following the rescue, the victim was debriefed by security personnel before being reunited with her family,” he added.
