TUGUEGARAO CITY- Philippine Airlines flights to the island province of Batanes were cancelled on Wednesday due to strong tailwinds and heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon. This was the sixth flight cancellation due to the bad weather, stranding close to 100 tourists and villagers who have been waiting to depart. Civil aviation officials have asked affected travelers to coordinate with airline officials for updates on their rescheduled flights or possible government-assisted humanitarian flights.
