The Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Amaravati Centre held its investiture ceremony in Vijayawada on Friday, with IIID national president Ar. Jignesh Modi as the chief guest.

Director of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, Ramesh Srikonda, delivered the keynote address. The event was attended by members of IIID’s National Executive Committee (NEC), architects, interior designers and trade representatives from the region.

Ar. Komal Gilda assumed charge as chairperson of the IIID Amaravati Centre, with Ar. Surendra as secretary, Trinadh N. as vice-president and Ar. Anvesh as treasurer, while Nagaraju K., Srinivas, Sandeepani, Ar. Sudhakar and Ar. Abhilash joined the Managing Committee.

Mr. Srikonda spoke about the growing interface between design education and professional practice, while Mr. Modi outlined IIID’s national vision of promoting innovation and global design standards and highlighted the role of regional centres in the growth of the profession.

Ms. Gilda said the new team would focus on regional initiatives in sustainable design, student mentorship and stronger collaboration with trade partners. The ceremony brought together members of the design fraternity to mark the beginning of the new leadership at the Amaravati Centre.
