According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported this on Facebook.

Starting at 18:00 on August 15, Russian forces attacked Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih with Oniks anti-ship missiles; Iskander-M, S-400 and KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from Russia's Kursk, Bryansk and Voronezh regions; Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles launched from airspace over the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region and Russia's Belgorod region; as well as 106 Shahed attack drones, including jet-powered variants, Gerbera drones and Parodiya-type decoy drones launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Crimea.

The main targets were in the Kyiv, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The Russian air attack was repelled by Ukrainian fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on August 16, Ukrainian air defense had shot down or suppressed three Russian Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles, as well as 85 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones over northern, southern, eastern and central Ukraine.

Hits by Russian aerial weapons were recorded at 13 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at three locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several drones still in Ukrainian airspace.

Russian missile strikes early on August 16 caused fires in two districts of Kyiv. Three people have been reported injured.
