Bohol patrol car carrying drug evidence crashes into post

CEBU CITY, Philippines – A patrol car of the Guindulman Police Station in Bohol Province got involved in an accident on the national highway in Barangay Yanangan, Loay town on Sunday, August 16.

The Loay Municipal Police Station received a call from a concerned citizen informing them about the accident, and they immediately responded. The accident reportedly took place around 2:30 a.m.

When they arrived in the area, they saw the patrol car had crashed into an electric post.

A 35-year-old civilian man was behind the wheel. Authorities identified his passenger as a master sergeant assigned to the Guindulman Municipal Police Station.

Based on the investigation, the patrol car came from a buy-bust operation.

The team was traveling to Tagbilaran City to transport drug evidence to the Crime Laboratory Office at the Bohol Police Provincial Office when the accident occurred.

According to the investigation, the driver fell asleep. The patrol car crossed to the opposite lane and crashed into an electric post beside the road.

The driver suffered injuries. Authorities brought him to the Provincial Hospital in Tagbilaran City for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the passenger police officer did not get hurt. The authorities eventually brought the drug evidence to the Crime Laboratory.
