BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Farmers in Benguet dumped Chinese cabbage and carrots along the Labey-Lacamen Road in Tublay town on Sunday, Aug. 16, as low vegetable prices and a lack of buyers made it difficult to sell their harvests. According to some farmers, vegetable prices have dropped significantly, while buyers have become scarce or, in some cases, have stopped purchasing their produce. The farmers said bringing their vegetables to trading centers in La Trinidad would only add to their expenses, particularly transportation costs.
