This was reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

Protesters began their rally near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People and continued it on Independence Square with slogans such as “Reforms, not schemes,” “Listen to the people loud and clear,” and “From the Soviet era to Europe.”

Several hundred people are currently participating in the rally. Other chants include “Dialogue with the people,” “Fedorov to the Ministry of Defense,” “Fedorov = Minister of Defense,” “Thanks for Drapatyi, but we’re not done yet,” and so on.

The protesters marched from Independence Square along Instytutska Street to Franko Square, where they continued their rally. During the march, they observed a minute of silence to honor those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

As reported by Ukrinform, on July 14, the Verkhovna Rada approved the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Along with Svyrydenko, the entire government automatically resigned.

Fedorov

On July 16, in a number of Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, people began taking to the streets to protest the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of defense minister.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the mass protests against Fedorov’s dismissal are an expression of the democracy and freedom for which Ukraine is currently fighting.

Yevhen Khmara has been officially serving as acting Minister of Defense since July 20.
